Beer is much more than just a fizzy alcoholic liquid.
Hardknott is much more than just a brewery.
For beer, and therefore Hardknott to mean anything we need you, the beer fan, to engage with us.
This site is dedicated to bringing together everyone who loves what we do and encourage you to engage with us, and along the way we’ll be bringing rewards claimable by everyone who joins in the fun.
We do not always take ourselves seriously. We’ve been accused of having limited self awareness. But no, it’s not that we don’t know that sometimes we appear a bit silly, we know that often we are a bit silly.
The video to accompany Intergalactic Space Hopper was no different. And here it is.
A 7.3% Double IPA. Nose of bananas and pineapple smuggled under a grass skirt, followed by a teaser of biscuit with a crashing wave of fruity hop bitterness and a 10 mile long finish.
We made a 7% beer with figs and spices in it. We called it Figgy Pudding, recorded “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” and made a daft video to go with it.
Our Pan-Atlantic IPA, Azimuth, has been a great success in both bottle and cask. We also think it’s great in keg, but not many people have had the pleasure of trying it. We have long held the belief that beers that are a bit stronger, hoppier and a little bit special work well in keg. There are many reasons for this.
Azimuth - a Pan-Atlantic IPA
We’ve been trialling keg for quite a while now. We’ve sent quite a bit to Italy and a fair amount goes out of the country. We haven’t always got it right, but we believe we have our techniques cracked. Over the next few weeks we’ll be rolling out Azimuth into as many craft beer bars as possible. Watch out for it in the places that are lucky enough for us to send it to.
Hardknott are proud to announce that they will be serving some of their progressive beers at the very first International Beer Festival at Leeds.
“We are absolutely delighted to be asked to take part in this innovative festival” says Dave Bailey, Brewer, Doer, Force Majuere at the Cumbrian based brewery “It is long overdue that a more progressive and modern beer festival was organised in this country.
