This is what you’ve been waiting for. We’ve not brewed Granite for two years now. Too busy brewing boring session beers. We shouldn’t waste our time on them, I know.
So, here we are, after a lot of hard work and research we’ve beaten our personal best and made a beer at 12.7% – all confirmed by independent lab analysis and everything.
Granite is our “vintage” barley wine. This year we’ve got the sweetness right down by converting more of them sugars to alcohol. It’s dryer and for some people far more drinkable. Perhaps too much so.
There are aromas of dark fruit, liquorice, caramel, spicy cloves and figs. Flavours of currants, molasses, juniper berries and dry sherry. There is a long intense bitter spirit finish. It’s an absolute belter with mature cheese.
Snap it up now, because if previous years are anything to go by there’ll be none left by the time we brew the next lot.
